Andover, Hampshire, England and Andover, Massachusetts, USA have signed a "twinning" agreement. A new "Twinning Garden" is being constructed in The Park of Andover, MA to symbolize the connection between the two Andovers. The dry river bed of Rogers Brook symbolizes the River Test of Andover, England. The garden features a refurbished foot bridge and flowering azaleas and ornamental grasses planted in the dry river bed. Three granite benches will surround a weeping mulberry tree. Another granite bench will be inscribed with the words: "This garden commemorates the twinning of Andover, Hampshire and Andover, MA, June 2, 2000."
Andover, England dedicated "A Place to Rest," a sculpture of Chief Cutshumache pointing West toward Andover, USA to symbolize our twinning agreement.
